It’s almost time for the 2nd annual Skate-A-Thon to support the Eliza Hope Foundation! On February 24th, 2023 The McDonald Family and our beloved Board Member Dr. Michael Denk will attempt to skate 100 OR MORE laps in a one hour period at the Iceland Family Skate Center in Virginia Beach. They are skating to raise awareness and support for the Eliza Hope Foundation, a grassroots nonprofit that supports children and families affected by autism in Hampton Roads.
To support Team Darby you can simply:
-Donate any amount on this page; or
-Purchase a ticket to attend the Skate-A-Thon and cheer our skaters on (see ** below for details); or
-Make a pledge to support the skater of your choice
**No ticket purchase is required to attend the Skate-A-Thon! A ticket purchase is only necessary if you would like to skate at the public skating session after the Skate-A-Thon, enjoy a piece of pizza, and hot chocolate (skate rental, skate time, pizza and hot chocolate included with ticket purchase). Tickets may also be purchased on site the day of the Skate-A-Thon.
To make a pledge, please visit this link https://give.elizahope.org/preauthorize/22403 to complete a preauthorized credit card form. Once you have completed the form, please email Shelley Spell at sspell@elizahope.org with your full name, phone number, the skater you are supporting, and the pledge amount you wish to donate per lap. Following the conclusion of the Skate-A-Thon you consent to the Eliza Hope Foundation completing your pledge based on the number of laps your skater completes. You will receive an emailed receipt with the total of your donation following the Skate-A-Thon.
